What is a DBS Check?
Formerly known as CRB Checks, DBS Checks (aka criminal record check) determine whether an individual has a criminal record. If a criminal record is found, the check will reveal the individual’s convictions and cautions.
What does a Basic DBS Check show?
This check contains details of convictions and cautions from the Police National Computer (PNC), “…that are considered to be unspent under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.”
Why do I need a Basic DBS Check?
Criminal record checks are a legal requirement in certain industries, including aviation, construction, engineering, government, healthcare, hospitality, transport, to name a few.
The aim is to provide employers peace of mind that you have no unspent convictions that could affect your ability to perform the role. In addition, it also protects employers from legal, reputational, and/or financial damage that could occur from a bad hiring decision.
How much does a Basic DBS Check cost?
